How to Take Your Measurements

To ensure a perfect fit for your custom Luminous Designs pieces, it’s important to provide accurate measurements. Here’s a simple guide on how to take your measurements at home:

What You’ll Need:

  • A soft measuring tape (or a piece of string and a ruler)
  • A mirror (optional, but helpful!)
  • A friend to assist (if available)



Key Measurements:

  1. Bust

    • Measure around the fullest part of your bust, making sure the tape is snug but not tight.
    • Keep the tape level across your back and chest.
    • Tip: Wear the bra you intend to wear while taking this measurement!

  2. Underbust

    • Measure just underneath your bust, around your ribcage.
    • Keep the tape horizontal across your back.

  3. Waist

    • Find your natural waist by bending to the side—this is the crease where your waist naturally folds.
    • Measure around this area, keeping the tape snug but not too tight.

  4. Hips

    • Measure around the fullest part of your hips and bum.
    • Make sure the tape is parallel to the floor and snug.

  5. Torso Length (for bodysuits)

    • Measure from the top of one shoulder, down your front, through your legs, and up your back to the same point on your shoulder.
    • This measurement ensures the right fit for bodysuits!

  6. Inseam (for pants or jumpsuits)

    • Measure from the top of your inner thigh (where your legs meet your torso) down to the desired hemline.



Tips for Accurate Measurements:

  • Measure while standing straight and relaxed.
  • Keep the measuring tape flat and level—don’t let it twist.
  • Measure over bare skin or form-fitting clothing for best results.
  • Double-check your measurements to ensure accuracy.
